A Holiday Magic Spark
Well, we are all looking for a bit of magic during the
holiday season. You know, a sign that
there is still hope in the world and that there is some connection among us
that transcends the every-day life. I
had such an event recently and this is my story.
While helping my son
Anton restore his 1986 Four Winns boat; which has an in-line four cylinder Iron
Duke engine, built in Pontiac, Mi., we decided to change the spark plugs. To my
surprise the original AC Spark Plugs made in Flint, Mi. were still in the
engine. This was special in many ways but especially because my cousin, Carolyn
Hamilton – Gean worked at and retired from the AC Spark Plug Plant in Flint. The plant closed in 2008 and Carolyn is no longer
with us. However, to think that these
plugs may have passed by Carolyn’s workstation is surreal to say the least. It
is comforting to know that some of these spark plugs are still in circulation
and that something Carolyn worked on is still with us. This has to be a sign that there is still hope
in the world and that the magic of Christmas is all around us.
I hope everyone can enjoy a holiday season complete with some awesome magic! Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas!
